Personal injury management scholarship program 

Applications are now open for the 2012 round of WorkCover’s Personal injury management scholarship program.

Launched in 2007, the scholarship is designed to encourage and support personnel working in the NSW workers compensation industry to undertake industry-specific post graduate studies.

 

Program eligibility

The program is open to all individuals working in a workers compensation personal injury management role for a NSW Scheme Agent, self insurer, specialised insurer, or approved workplace rehabilitation provider or a NSW Compensation Authorities Staff Division agency.

 

Available scholarships

Up to six scholarships are available for individuals wishing to undertake a Personal Injury and Education Foundation (PIEF) post-graduate qualification commencing next year.

 

Applicable qualifications

Scholarship recipients will be able to use the scholarship funds to undertake one of the following PIEF qualifications:

  • Graduate Certificate of Management (Personal Injury)
  • Graduate Diploma of Management (Personal Injury)
  • Master of Management (Personal Injury).

Scholarships details

Each scholarship is worth a maximum of $15,000 for each year of approved study. Scholarship funds can be used by participants and/or their employer to claim reimbursement of:

  • tuition fees
  • residential study fees (including PIEF charges for meals and accommodation)
  • economy airfares to attend residential study sessions.

Note: Scholarships cannot be used to claim incidental costs such as road travel, taxi fares, texts books, tuition surcharges or wage costs for employer provided study time/leave. Scholarships are awarded to selected individuals only, and are not transferable.

 Applications open: 7 October 2011 
 Applications close: 3 November 2011 
 Scholarships awarded:  29 November 2011 
 Study commences: 5 March 2012
