The Gazetted fees for public and private hospitals and ambulance service fees set the maximum fees for treating an injured worker within the Workers Compensation system.

All invoices for treatment services must be consistent with the Rates Order and the invoicing requirements for all WorkCover service providers.

 

Public Hospital

The Workers Compensation (Public Hospital Rates) applies to the hospital treatment of a worker at a public hospital, excluding workers injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

Use of the WorkCover Payment Classification system is a requirement when submitting invoices to insurers. The following list of codes should be used for services within a public hospital.

 

Private Hospital

This fee schedule applies to treatment provided to an injured worker in a private hospital on or after 7 May 2010.

Ambulance

The Workers Compensation (Ambulance Fees) Order provides the maximum fees payable for treating injured workers, excluding workers injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

These fees are payable to the Ambulance Serivce of NSW, St Johns Ambulance Australia, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Mines Rescues Company.

The payment classification code is TRA001 is to be included on all invoices for ambulance services.
