Under the new workers compensation scheme arrangements, which commenced on 1 January 2010, WorkCover on behalf of the Nominal Insurer entered into a 'contract for service' arrangement with the seven successful Scheme Agents to provide comprehensive workers compensation policy and claim services to the Nominal Insurer.
Due to the commercially sensitive and confidential information relevant to each agent’s operations in each of the contracts, the contract arrangement has mutual obligations of confidentiality between each of the Scheme Agents and the Nominal Insurer.
As part of WorkCover’s commitment to maintaining transparency of the workers compensation scheme, the Nominal Insurer has recently consulted with the seven Scheme Agents to determine what parts of the contracts might be publicly released without compromising confidentiality.
The
2010 Deed, including the Schedules and Operational Document Set are common to all Scheme Agents and are released for public information. Certain areas of the contract remain undisclosed as they contain commerically sensitive information specific to each agent's operations, processes and intellectual property. A list of these can be found in clause 48.1 (glossary) of the 2010 Deed.
