Death benefits and family support 

 

The benefits that may be payable when a worker dies as a result of a workplace injury include:

  • a lump sum
  • weekly payments for dependents
  • reasonable funeral expenses.

These benefits are payable under the:

The lump sum benefit payable is the amount that is applicable at the date of the worker’s death. All death benefits, except funeral expenses, are indexed on 1 April and 1 October each year.
