The rules make provision for the following matters in connection with the jurisdiction of the Commission under the
Workers Compensation Act 1987 and the
Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998:
- administrative matters (including the establishment and location of the Commission’s Registry and its hours of business)
- the commencement of proceedings before the Commission
- the parties to proceedings before the Commission
- dispute resolution procedures
- proceedings before the Commission
- medical assessments and evidence
- appeals
- work injury damages.
These rules are made under the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998, including section 364 (the general rule-making power).
