WorkCover NSW is holding three free webinars this month as part of its program to support NSW business, industry and workers adjust to new work health and safety laws.
The webinars will cover the topics of consultation and the role of health and safety representatives, how to manage risks in the workplace and new requirements for hazardous work.
General Manager of WorkCover’s Work Health and Safety Division, John Watson, said the webinars provide an opportunity for employers and workers to ask questions and seek clarification on how the new laws affect their workplace.
“On 1 January 2012 new work health and safety laws commenced in NSW as part of harmonised national laws,” Mr Watson said.
“As part of our comprehensive program to help NSW business, industry and workers adjust to the changes we are holding eight webinars over the next three months on different aspects of the new laws.
“Anyone with an internet connection can participate and receive interactive work health and safety advice in real-time.
“We’re excited to be able to provide this information directly to NSW business, industry and workers and I encourage anyone with questions on how the new laws affect their workplace to participate.
“Places are limited, so go online and register today.”
